SOY LIZ
Liz De León was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised across the border in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, where Spanish was the only language spoken at home. Her family immigrated to the United States just before she started elementary school, bringing with them a strong work ethic and deep cultural roots that continue to shape her values today. As the youngest of four children, Liz grew up with a strong commitment to hard work and education. Now a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in San Diego, Liz lives with her husband and their two young children. Together, they’re raising their children to be fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
Motherhood inspired Liz to create Spanish with Liz. As a Spanish-speaking immigrant raising children in an English-speaking community, she understood the challenge of preserving Spanish at home and wanted more engaging, educational resources for young children.
With a background in music and dance, Liz brings those skills into her lessons through original songs, movement, repetition, and clear pronunciation.
Her content goes beyond language learning to include early literacy, safety, healthy habits, and everyday skills. Liz continues to develop her content using early childhood education best practices and input from professionals in healthcare and education.
The Spanish with Liz channel currently sponsors three charitable organizations and also helps support medical mission trips and community fundraisers. Her mission is to make Spanish fun for kids while giving parents the tools to support bilingual learning at home.

Inspired by the loss of a loved one, Liz De León pursued a career in nursing. While completing her degree at the University of Texas at El Paso, she worked as a preschool teacher's assistant. After graduation, Liz moved to San Diego, where she took on various nursing roles working with both children and adults. She then advanced her training at Loma Linda University, specializing in anesthesia, and now practices as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Dedicated to giving back, Liz also participates in mission trips, serving as both a care provider and a Spanish translator in countries including Peru, Honduras, Mexico, and others.
